The California Attorney General’s Office is hiring again in the Employment and Administrative Mandate section in the San Diego office! They have TWO open positions!
You will run your own cases, get first-chair trial experience, and brief and argue your own appeals, all while working with a great team of top-notch attorneys!
EAM is the section that defends state agencies in employment litigation in state and federal court, represents the state in disciplinary appeals before the State Personnel Board, conducts workplace and Title IX investigations for state agencies, and represents the state in various types of civil litigation and administrative cases. We’re hiring for two Deputy Attorney General III positions. DAG III candidates must have six or more years of legal experience in private practice or in the public sector. Civil litigation experience is required, and employment litigation experience is a plus, but not required. They offer good pay, great benefits, and interesting work!
All applicants must be on the state eligibility list for the DAG III position, which means you must take the DAG III Exam if you’re not already on the eligibility list. The exam is really just an online questionnaire that asks about your experience handling various litigation-related tasks. Information about and a link to the DAG III Exam is here: https://jobs.ca.gov/CalHrPublic/Exams/Bulletin.aspx?examCD=9PB28.
